Affordable
Whatever your financial situation, we can help your student get an education that will enhance the rest of his or her life. In general, tuition and fees for attending a community college are often as low as one-third, or less, than the cost of attending a state university or private institution. GateWay structures costs to make education affordable. More good news: If your high school student qualifies in the top one-third of the class, they can be automatically eligible for the President's Scholarship. And . . . dozens of scholarships are also available for GateWay students. To learn more about available scholarships, requirements, and how to apply, visit the Enrollment & Financial Aid Web site for complete details.
Small Classes
A friendly, encouraging classroom environment is important to your student's learning success and enjoyment. At GateWay, your student won't become overwhelmed in a huge class of hundreds of students or a large lecture hall that a large university might have. Most GateWay classes average only 20 to 30 students, or less, increasing the instructor's opportunity to help the student on a one-on-one basis. Your student truly counts as an individual at GateWay.
Schedule Options
We know life is demanding of your time, as well as your student's time--if you or your student is currently working, meeting family obligations, and, possibly, sharing transportation, GateWay offers several choices to fit your personal schedules, with day, evening, and even online classes.
Location
GateWay is conveniently located for easy access from almost anywhere in the Valley--either by car, bus, or, in the near future, by the new, convenient light rail. Check out the map and you'll see how close we are to ASU and to most freeways. There is no need for you to worry about the expense of student housing.
Associates Degree
An Associates Degree is a great way for students, possibly who are responsible for their own educational expenses, to earn transferable credits to continue their education and their career goals, while working at a paying job. The GateWay degree program allows your student to explore their career options, accelerate their studies so they can get into the workplace quickly, and to learn from our extraordinary educators. Statistically, employees who have an Associates Degree earn 40% more than those who have only a high school diploma. GateWay offers several fields of study providing students the opportunity to earn an Associates Degree, guaranteed to transfer to any of Arizona's three state universities.
University Transfer
GateWay offers numerous transfer options to the state university level, as well as continuing education courses at GateWay, once your student has attained their basic course(s) of study. They can even return to GateWay after they have entered the workforce for a brush-up course or for additional credentials.
Career Opportunities
GateWay offers career-training programs that can be completed in as little as two months to two years. GateWay knows that "one size fits all" does not apply to individuals in pursuit of learning and preparing for the real world workforce. You and your student choose. GateWay offers a choice of 85 degree and certificate programs, from courses in our one-of-a-kind healthcare program, to high tech, to business, to manufacturing, to a variety of apprenticeship programs . . . there's something for everyone! GateWay boasts a successful 98% placement rate in some healthcare programs.
The Career Center offers career counseling, help with resume writing, and interviewing and career search strategies, and on-campus recruiting, as well as career and job fairs throughout the year. Students are also free to use the Center's computers, printers, and fax machines.
Athletics
Through GateWay's nationally ranked athletic programs, your student can improve their athletic performance, make new friends, and maybe even partially fund their college education.
Activities
Encourage your student to join one of several on-campus student clubs and make friends with those who share similar interests . . . from government-oriented clubs, to your student's field of study, to social forums. It's fun to get involved and to expand the total learning experience!
College Credit for High School Students
Several Valley area schools participate with GateWay in dual enrollment programs, which allow students to take college courses for both high school and college credits. (Note: special requirements must be met.)
Early College High School Program
If your student wants the experience of a college campus environment while still pursuing his or her high school studies, GateWay's Early College High School Program might just be what you're both looking for.
