GateWay Community College - Learn More, Live Better

Affordable

Whatever your financial situation, we can help you get an education that will enhance the rest of your life. In general, tuition and fees for attending a community college are often as low as one-third, or less, than the cost of attending a state university or private institution. GateWay structures your tuition costs to make education affordable. More good news: You can also be automatically eligible for the President’s Scholarship if you qualify in the top one-third of your class.  Dozens of scholarships are available for GateWay students. To learn more about available scholarships, requirements, and how to apply, visit the Enrollment & Financial Aid Web site for complete details.

Small Classes

At GateWay, you’ll never get lost in a huge class of hundreds of students or a large lecture hall that a large university might have.  A friendly, encouraging classroom environment is important to your learning success and enjoyment.  Most GateWay classes average only 20 to 30 students, or less, increasing the instructor’s opportunity to help you on a one-on-one basis.  You truly count as an individual at GateWay.

Schedule Options

We know life is demanding of your time—you may be juggling one or more jobs, possibly even working evening and weekend hours, or meeting family obligations. GateWay offers several choices to fit your personal schedule, with day, evening, and even online classes.

Location

GateWay is conveniently located for easy access from almost anywhere in the Valley—either by car, bus, or, in the near future, by the new, convenient light rail. Check out the map and you’ll see how close we are to ASU and to most freeways.

Associates Degree

An Associates Degree is a great way for high school students, who are responsible for their own educational expenses, to earn transferable credits to continue their education and their career goals, while working at a paying job. The GateWay degree program allows you to explore your career options, accelerate your studies so you can get into the workplace quickly, and learn from our terrific educators. Statistically, employees who have an Associates Degree earn 40% more than those who have only a high school diploma.  GateWay offers several fields of study providing students the opportunity to earn an Associates Degree, guaranteed to transfer to any of Arizona’s three state universities.

University Transfer

GateWay offers numerous transfer options to the state university level, as well as continuing education courses at GateWay once you’ve completed your basic course(s) of study. You can even return to GateWay after you’ve entered the workforce for a brush-up course or for additional credentials.

Career Opportunities

GateWay offers career-training programs that can be completed in as little as two months to two years.  GateWay knows that “one size fits all” does not apply to individuals in pursuit of learning and preparing for the real world workforce. You choose. You have a choice of 85 degree and certificate programs, from courses in our one-of-a-kind healthcare program, to high tech, to business, to manufacturing, to a variety of apprenticeship programs . . . there’s something for everyone!  GateWay boasts a successful 98% placement rate in some healthcare programs.

The Career Planning Center offers career counseling, help with resume writing, and interviewing and career search strategies, and on-campus recruiting, as well as career and job fairs throughout the year. You are also free to use the Center’s computers, printers, and fax machines.

Athletics

Through GateWay’s nationally ranked athletic programs, you can improve your athletic performance, meet new friends, and maybe even partially fund your college education.

Activities

Join one of several on-campus student clubs and make friends with those who share your similar interests . . . from government-oriented clubs, to your field of study, to social forums.  It’s fun to get involved!

College Credit for High School Students

Several Valley area schools participate with GateWay in dual enrollment programs, which allow students to take college courses for both high school and college credits. (Note: special requirements must be met.)

Early College High School

If you want the experience of a college campus environment while still pursuing your high school studies, GateWay’s Early College High School Program might just be what you’re looking for. The GateWay Early College High School is located on our beautiful campus, so you can learn while you earn your high school diploma and Associate’s Degree, at no cost, within five or fewer years of starting high school.
