Specializing in Adult Re-Entry
GateWay specializes in Adult Student education and has developed an extraordinary Adult Re-Entry Program, specifically for those returning to college. Our services offer guidance for those attending college for the first time, returning to college after an absence, or wanting to find a new or different career ... to provide the necessary resources to manage school, work, family, and other life roles.
Convenient Schedule Options
We know life is demanding of your time—you may be juggling one or more jobs, possibly even working evening and weekend hours, meeting family obligations, and just trying to keep up with it all. GateWay has convenient day and evening classes available to work with your schedule. We even offer online classes.
Low, Affordable Tuition
Whatever your financial situation, we can help you get an education that will enhance the rest of your life. In general, tuition and fees for attending a community college are often as low as one-third, or less, than the cost of attending a state university or private institution. GateWay structures your tuition costs to make education affordable. More good news: Dozens of scholarships are available for GateWay students. To learn more about available scholarships, requirements, and how to apply, visit Enrollment & Financial Aid Web site for complete details.
Small Classes
A friendly, encouraging classroom environment, with other adults in similar situations, is important to your learning success and enjoyment. Most GateWay classes average only 20 to 30 students, or less, increasing the instructor’s opportunity to help you on a one-on-one basis. It’s good to know you’ll have the opportunity to maximize your class time with individual attention at GateWay.
Central Location
GateWay is conveniently located for easy, “after-work” access from almost anywhere in the Valley—either by car, bus, or, in the near future, by the new, convenient light rail. Check out the map and you’ll see how close we are to ASU and to most freeways.
Adult Education Programs
Among the multitude of programs developed especially for the adult student, is the unique POWER PROGRAM. This exciting course of study is a 4-credit program to assist adult students in setting their career and educational goals and in gaining basic computer skills.
The Child Care Center
Peace of mind is knowing your child is being taken care of in a safe, caring environment while you attend class. While you’re learning, your child can be experiencing physical, mental, social, and emotional growth! For a nominal fee, child care is available to the children of GateWay students who meet the eligibility requirements.
Associates Degree
Statistically, employees who have an Associates Degree earn 40% more than those who have only a high school diploma. GateWay offers several fields of study providing students the opportunity to earn an Associates Degree, guaranteed to transfer to any of Arizona’s three state universities. An Associates Degree will allow you to earn transferable credits to continue your education and pursue your career goals, while working at a paying job. The GateWay degree program allows you to explore your career options and to accelerate your studies so you can get into the workplace quickly.
University Transfer
GateWay offers numerous transfer options to the state university level, as well as continuing education courses at GateWay, once you’ve attained your basic course(s) of study. You can even return to GateWay after you’ve entered the workforce for a brush-up course or for additional credentials.
Career Opportunities
GateWay offers career-training programs that can be completed in as little as two months to two years. GateWay knows that “one size fits all” does not apply to individuals in pursuit of learning and preparing for the real world workforce. You choose. You have a choice of 85 degree and certificate programs, from courses in our one-of-a-kind healthcare program, to high tech, to business, to manufacturing, to a variety of apprenticeship programs . . . there’s something for everyone! The Career Planning Center offers career counseling, help with resume writing, interviewing and career search strategies, and on-campus recruiting, as well as career and job fairs throughout the year. You are also free to use the Center’s computers, printers, and fax machines.
